Custom Embossed Invitations
Custom Embossed Invitations
Embossing and debossing are the processes of creating either raised or recessed relief images and designs in paper and other materials. An embossed pattern is raised against the background, while a debossed pattern is sunken into the surface of the material but might protrude somewhat on the reverse side.
Soft and subtle, the embossing method creates tactile impact without the use of any colour. Embossing adds a beautiful finish to your invitations whether is just a design or text to make a statement. It requires two custom made plates that fit into each other to alter the surface of your paper.
The plates fit into each other with precision, so that when the paper is pressed between them, the raised plate forces the stock into the recessed plate. A specific level of pressure is applied in order to squeeze the fibres of the paper, which results in that beautiful permanently raised area that is just so hard to resist running your fingers over (don’t say we didn’t warn you!).
